Answers to the questions people ask most about Neatly Packed.

An open suitcase, packed and strapped
Is Neatly Packed free?

Yes. The free version covers 3 trips in total: the full list with counts from your nights, tips for 58 destinations, the weather, map and trip info, your documents and bookings, the flying rules, the countdown and reminder, and backup, export and delete. Deleting a trip does not give you another. Documents and medication are free, always.

Is Neatly Packed really not a subscription?

Really. Premium is one payment of $4.99, and nothing renews.

How many clothes should I pack for a 5-night trip?

The free list gives one more than your number of nights for underwear, socks and T-shirts, up to seven. So five nights means six of each. With Premium, laundry on the trip or a light packing style brings that number down, and the reason shows under each count.

Which places have packing tips?

58 destinations, from Japan and Bali to Jamaica, Iceland and Peru. Each one adds the things a normal list misses, like slip-on shoes for Japanese temples, and shows the plug type and voltage so the right adapter goes on the list.

Does it check the weather for my trip?

Yes. The live forecast covers about 9 days before you go, and if rain or sun is coming, the list adds a rain jacket, an umbrella, sunscreen or a warm layer. Further out, the app shows the usual weather for the season, and you pick the weather you expect.

Can I pack for my family or a group?

Yes, with Premium. Add each traveller with a name, an avatar and what they usually wear. The list grows the counts for everyone, and shared things like the plug adapter stay as one.

Does it tell me what I can take on a plane?

Yes, for free. A plain guide covers liquids, batteries and power banks, bag sizes and the things people get stopped for at security. A suitcase meter shows how packed your bag is and whether it should fit.

Can it keep my tickets and travel documents?

Yes, for free. Keep tickets, PDFs and photos of documents with the trip, stored encrypted on your phone. Add flights, stays, trains, buses and activities, and your bookings suggest items for the list. Each trip also shows the local time, the currency, emergency numbers and a few handy phrases.

Will it remind me before I leave?

Yes. A countdown shows the days left, and a reminder arrives at 9 in the morning the day before you go. On iPhone, a home screen widget shows how packed you are.

Can I reuse a list from an earlier trip?

Yes, with Premium. Start a new trip from one you packed before, or copy a trip with its bags. An after-trip review notes what you forgot, and the app offers it on your next trip.

Where are my trips stored?

On your phone, and no account is needed. You can add an optional account, and Premium syncs your trips across your devices, end-to-end encrypted. Save a backup file or delete everything any time.

Can I use Neatly Packed on my computer?

Neatly Packed also comes as a desktop version for your computer, alongside the iPhone and Android apps.

the charger comes too.
